Ex Libris, Volume II
contact
I continue to enjoy creating
these asssemblages made from
the covers of used books.
I'm finding, though, that some true
bibliophiles are shocked to see
books destroyed in order to
create art, and to them I would
like to explain that I get my
old books from the San Francisco
Friends of the Library, a group of

volunteers who sort donated

books, and save those that can
be resold in their used bookshop.
The rejects get their covers torn
off and discarded, and the text
blocks recycled. So I am giving
new life to these abandoned
treasures.

I found in doing these most
recent pieces that I've become
seduced by the rich colors of
some of the covers, and have

also been thinking somewhat

more abstractly.
